TRANSFORMERS Characters to Fight the Gods in Hit Video Game SMITE

Smite x Transformer

is announced with a cinematic trailer

This November, worlds will collide with the TRANSFORMERS SMITE crossover event, revealed today through a cinematic trailer at Pulse Con, Hasbro’s virtual fan event.

Autobots and Decepticons from Hasbro’s TRANSFORMERS franchise are coming to the battleground of the video game SMITE, created by Titan Forge Games and published by Hi-Rez. They will face gods from ancient mythology such as Thor, Zeus, and Anubis. Deities beware: TRANSFORMERS ‘bots are… More Than Meets The Eye.

Players will get to battle as iconic and infamous robots Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream as top-of-the-line god skins available with the TRANSFORMERS Battle Pass. In-game, Optimus Prime converts into a truck, Megatron into a tank and Starscream into a jet. Each TRANSFORMERS character will have two forms: one in the SMITE art style, the other a rendering inspired by the TRANSFORMERS Generations toys, TV show and movie from the 80s, taking fans back in time.

After purchase, players will progress through the TRANSFORMERS Battle Pass and unlock its rewards simply by playing online SMITE matches. In addition to the six TRANSFORMERS skins, fans will get dozens of thematic items designed jointly with Hasbro such as a ward skin depicting Kremzeek, a loading frame pitting Autobots against Decepticons, and Level-up effects coming straight from Cybertron.

“There’s something magical about having Optimus Prime save the day on the Battleground of the Gods,” said Alex Cantatore, Hi-Rez VP of Brand. “We’ve always said that SMITE is the ultimate crossover game, bringing all the world’s myths together. Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream just take that to another level.”

“More than a few Titan Forge Games employees have their desks covered in the G1 TRANSFORMERS toys, ” said Travis Brown, Executive Producer of SMITE. “It was really a labor of love to bring the TRANSFORMERS robots to life in SMITE, and the team really went above and beyond – they’ve created all-new models, rigging, animations, and effects to really bring the TRANSFORMERS robots into the Battleground of the Gods.”

SMITE’s unique blend of third-person action combat and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) strategy has attracted more than 35 million players to the Battleground of the Gods. SMITE features an ever-growing roster of 110+ Gods and Goddesses from pantheons around the world and throughout history, and is free to play on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

In the past two years, Hi-Rez has become an expert on how to blend SMITE’s mythological universe and popular franchises with fidelity and love through crossovers with Netflix’s Stranger Things, Nickelodeon’s Avatar and TMNT, Rooster Teeth’s RWBY, and electronic music label Monstercat.

The TRANSFORMERS Battle Pass will become available for purchase in SMITE next month.
